How Bad Will Sonic Games Get?

Probably so bad that you have to glue the control sick forward to move.

Actually, I myself think they'll get better and they've been getting better for some time. So good thaat I would stop mid-game and look at the scenery and listen to the music.

The music and graphics are getting WAY better but some games I wont mention *cough*Sonic 2006 and SATBK*cough* are getting weaker and weaker gameplay.

I predict more entries into the Storybook Series:

Sonic and the Three Musketeers. (inb4 Three Musketeers-styled Sonic Heroes)
Sonic Hood *shot*
Beauty and the Beast (inb4AmyxWerehog)
Blaze in Wonderland
Sleeping Beauty (inb4sonicxamyfansgowildlololol)

Problably badly at trying to be good by either putting bunches of enemies each 5 meters, or putting so much shortcuts that you don't know where to go...

all Sonic games are good and funny (except sonic labyrinth, drift 1 & 2)

I am a big fan of Sonic and i really love all the games, specially Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Heroes!!

I'm expecting that Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympics should be pretty good, If you look around on YouTube, you'll see that there are already some trailors made.

I want to see a Sonic game taking place in World War II for the storybook series.

I think that the official titles are going to get worse and the fangames are going to get better. That's how it's been for a while.

I just can't see why they dont make another game with graphics and loose controls and levels like Sonic Adventure DX. There also seems to be a lack of players, there is only sonic.

You know, given the fact that this sort of decline happens in plenty of franchises besides sonic (coughcoughcrashbandicootspyrocoughcough), I'd hazard a guess that mimicking the original design of games is easier said than done, otherwise everyone would have done it and franchises would never get old. Maybe they should try making additional juiced-up remakes of old games. Maybe they could try a 2.5D remake of Sonic 1!

Maybe a 3d remake of sonic 1 2 or 3.
Those were the true sonic games, what does SEGA have to do?
Get an old genesis, make more and make new 16 bit games?

As I said, I'd like to see Sonic 1, 2, and 3 in 2.5D (you know, 3D rendering but 2D levels and camera angle)

But still, a 3d remake would be cool, maybe...

It would be cool, but it's unrealistic to expect them to pull that off well.

That's the problem. The creators of the Sonic games left SEGA to move onto other things and now Sonic Team was left in a position.

I'd rather they just not bother with the classics, as remakes won't actually bring anything new to the experience, beyond prettier graphics anyway. Might as well just keep playing Sonic 2 on the old Genesis. And does anyone remember the cheesy lyrics from Sonic R? You know they'd jump at the chance to ruin songs like "Dreams come true" that way. (I think that song was supposed to have lyrics originally, but the Mega Drive's obvious limitations wouldn't allow for it.)

It would be better if they just made a completely new 2D Sonic game in the style of the classics. Possibly for download on the PSN/LIVE Arcade/Virtual Console. I bet servers would snap under the pressure, because of all the downloads. :P

Yeah, but the remake was even more boring than the original stage. I yawned through the whole thing. I still don't understand why they would want to create a remake of Green Hill Zone in the first place, those levels were kinda bland. I would have preferred an Angel Island remake instead.

I don't mind about the graphics much.
SADX was a great game and look at its graphics.
Sonic The Hedgehog was a great 2d game and look at its graphics.
Sonic 2006 was a terrible game and look at it's graphics in the best scenes.
