Wad Hevean Spriting Competition 1 - Voting

Us staff have decided to start up a Competition which involves making a sprite for SRB2. Not much, just a single sprite or more if wanted. It's kinda like the OLDC except with sprites. This'll be held every fortnight from start to finish of the competition. This is how it's going to be set out.

-Each Contest can be held every other fortnight. The best spriter will receive a custom rank of their choice. (Such as, say, "Ultimate Sonic Fan") No extra privileges are offered, other than a rank different from "User", along with Trophies next to their rank.

-All of the contestants will be assigned a specific theme. For example, "This Contest, the user who creates the best custom flowers, wins!", or "This Contest, the user who creates the best Tikal standing sprites shall be declared the winner!".

Judging guidelines that would be used:

-Most effort
-Neatest Outline
-Best colour choice
-Overall winner (The person who got the best marks in all of the above)
-And the 'LolFail' division where people post 5-minute sprites, just for some lulz.

Judging guidelines for sprites that would be disqualified from the contests:
-Sprites should be in either the DooM or SRB2ME palettes.
-Sprites should properly match the dimensions of the SRB2 sprites they are taking the place of. (Basically, don't make your character sprites three times larger than the default characters, or make flower sprites impossibly too small to see.)
-Sprites should use a cyan background for transparency, while custom textures need black.
-The content of sprites or textures must not break any of the already existing forum rules. (Nothing racist, pornographic, etc.)
-Sprite should be saved in commonly readable picture formats, such as BMP, GIF, or PNG. Image formats will lossy compression obviously shouldn't be allowed, such as JPEG.

Well, here's my submition.
Took around 1 hour.

And yeah, I know it needs shading.

And the fortnight starts... now. Okay, forgot to say, Judges will be rating as well as all the rest of the staff, except you Dc, you can't rate your own. But the rest you can. Also, I'll announce when the Judging begins and when the new topic starts, that'll help with more organised things.

Darkness claws gets a 6/7 out of 10.
It needs shading, the rest is awesome!

Here's a nice little mushroom I made, an area of scenery that srb2 is really lacking in.
EDIT: I made it into a little test wad replacing the sunflower, and here's how they look like in-game:

Just a note:
The sprite I posted earlier was a base of the sprite, I still need to add a series of shades to the base and leaves.

That's pretty awesome and can be used as the smallest of scenery.
You don't mind if I use it do you ice?

DC: 8,5/10: Nice one. I know it still needs shade but it's all right.
Ice: 9/10: I like the mushroom, but it's quite big for one.

DC1: 7.5/10 With shading it would be some cool scenery
DC2: 7/10 It is good for a robot base or something but apart from that it doesn't seem much like scenery.
DC3: 8.5/10 It looks good and has cool shading (like brown said) maybe if it had small mushrooms around it or if you made small mushroom sprites then it would be a 10.
